- Is this the new HSK 3.0 or the old exam?
- HSK 3.0 only. The exam was rebuilt into nine levels in 2026 and every question here was written for that standard — not converted from the old six-level test.
- Do I need to pay to start?
- No. The 11,000-word dictionary, the text analyser, the level converter and the placement test are free and unlimited. Daily practice has a free allowance; Pro removes the limit.
- Is there an iPhone app?
- Not yet — a native app is on the roadmap. Today NestChinese runs as a web app that works well on any phone: open it in Safari and tap Add to Home Screen, and it behaves like an installed app (offline-friendly, full screen, its own icon).
- What languages is it available in?
- Nine languages, including proper right-to-left layout for Arabic. Explanations appear in your language, while the Chinese you're learning stays in Chinese.
- Are the mock exams free?
- One timed mock paper per level is free — seven papers in total, twenty questions each, scored with a review of what you missed. Pro removes the limit on retakes.
- How much of the content is actually written for 3.0?
- All of it. 11,000 words from the 2025 list, 5,200+ questions in 3.0 formats, 7 mock papers, 3,088 stroke-order animations and 76 graded stories, none of it converted from the six-level exam.
